    Dear my darling Belle,

This is the story of the house we lived in and the ghost we stayed with that you asked for …

“Honey, wake up its moving day,” I heard a graceful voice say. When I opened my eyes I could see a gleaming white light pointed right at my eyes. Obviously I felt really upset to move. I had adapted to my scenery and my location. It was only two blocks away from my school, St Patricks. So I could easily walk to school. But when your Grandma said it was only across the road I immediately got up and dressed into my Sunday best, a cool blue, nicely ironed polka dot shirt and shorts.

So I packed all my stuff into tiny brown boxes and carried them out to the car boot. When I arrived and saw our new house. I screamed so loud that Africa could hear me. [By the way I was in Invercargill, NZ]. One more  look and I screamed again. My friends and I had always made fun of it and now I was living in it. It had broken windows and ripped curtains. When I looked inside I could see a faint light coming closer and closer then BOOM. It was my inventor dad [Your Pop] wearing an invisible cloak trying to scare me. It didn’t work. I could see wrecked wallpaper and broken glass on the floor. It was a really creepy house. Once my little brother Karli [Uncle] hopped out I quickly bags-ed the biggest room, grabbed my boxes and ran upstairs to my new room.

Once I got settled into my new room I went to bed. Hisssss, Crunch,  Boom, Bang. I woke up as soon as I heard them. They were as loud as an elephant stomping on my head. I got up and checked the clock. It was 1:00 a.m. so I went back to bed. Again this house put creepy thoughts in my head. As soon as I was asleep I heard it again, except this time there was a draft coming in and my wardrobe door was crashing open and closed. I was frightened. I thought one of my windows was open so I turned on the light and walked up to the window and I could see three teenagers outside fooling me... well I thought so.

Then I heard some crashing and thumping from down in the basement. I woke up Karli [Uncle] Mum [Grandma] and Dad [Pop] and dragged them down stairs to the basement… Once we got down there everyone had disappeared. All we could see was old newspapers talking about a man slaughter in our new house.

Dad and I researched about the house and the newspapers. While Mum and Karli cleaned up the newspapers and they were not happy about that at all. They were really dark and dusty. We found out a guy called Edward lived in this house with his wife and two kids. He man-slaughtered Elizabeth, Erica and Eric. When he thought there were robbers in his house he got a shovel and whacked them and killed them. Two months later he committed suicide.
“Mum the ghosts are haunting us.”
   “Don’t be silly Lizzy.”

I went up to my room and the ghost came up. I screamed and I screeched like an eaglet. He tried to cover my mouth but he couldn’t. He was so white and he went right through me like air. He started saying he was really nice. So I listened to him and we talked for hours and hours on end. He told me fascinating stories about adventure and how he had lived all these years.

Karli knocked on the door and I told him not to come in but he came in anyway. He yelled, “Ghosts.” Dad and Mum ran as fast as they could to get into my room. Edward quickly vanished into thin air. I told them there was nothing and that Karli has a wild imagination. I didn’t have the courage to tell them the truth. For now it would have to be my little pale secret.

He hadn’t come for ages after the incident.  But when he did I was a little upset that he hadn’t come for ages. I yelled what you want.
“My family,” he said wistfully. So I secretly snuck him down to the cemetery and looked for their graves. It was dark and a moonlit night.
Once I found it I left him there and we lived untouched forever, well almost forever.
                                            From Lizzy [ Elizabeth]

“Good night Ethan. I can’t wait for our family trip BUT if you sleep in we are going to leave you at home,” Mum said.

The next morning, “Don’t worry Ethan’s not coming because he forgot to turn his alarm on. I warned him!” Mum growled.

Ethan woke up just after his parents left. He shouted out hello mum dad, but nobody answered. Ethan thought his parents were in bed.

So he started packing, had breakfast and got dressed. Ethan ran in to his parent’s room, jumped on their bed… where are they? he thought. They’re probably in the bath room. I’ll wait.

Around 20 minutes later he went exploring to find his parents. While Ethan was exploring he discovered a note that said,
Dear son. You forgot to turn your alarm on and we have left you at home. I
hope you understand. Yours sincerely, Mum and Dad.

Ethan was terrified. He had never been home alone before. Ethan wanted to keep out of mischief. He thought he would get something like a phone if he kept the house tidy and didn’t get in trouble.

So Ethan turned on the T.V and saw that the police was looking for a mysterious guy. That had stolen $100,000 from the bank. Don’t approach him just call the police. The reward is a new I phone 7.

“Cool I would love a new I phone 7 but I said I wouldn’t get into trouble. What’s the time?

Oh it’s only the evening.” Ethan said while gluing his eyes to the T.V

 Ooooooooo, Thump, Bang!

“What was that?” Ethan said while chomping his fingers nails off.

 Ooooooooo, Thump, Bang!

“There it is again it’s probably nothing.”

But it probably was something because Ethan never talks to himself, only when he’s gets scared.

Ethan went around the house shutting all the curtains because he thought someone was looking at him from outside. Then he saw some people moving in next door. Ethan was so excited for a minute but then he wasn’t anymore because there were no kids to play with.

 Then…..

 “AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH,” Ethan said petrified.

That man on the T.V. was suddenly standing in his house asking him where their money was.

“I don’t know my parents took the money on their holiday.”

But the man didn’t listen and saw Ethan pick up the phone and run away. The police came but nobody was home. Because the man had ran away and Ethan had followed the man and was spying on him so the police knew now where he was.

The man thought he had lost them but Ethan and the police were peeping through a hole in the hedge. As soon as the man turned around they charged at him. In the bag which the man was holding there were gas pipes, matches and flash lights.

As the police promised Ethan got a new I phone 7.

Later on Ethan's parents came home wondering why things were missing but the police sorted it all out. Ethan was a hero.
“But next time I’m going to turn my alarm on.”
